What To Expect

You will meet your guide and begin your small group semi-private tour at the antique Rialto Fish Market, a UNESCO preserved patrimony, and one of the most ancient and picturesque parts of the city! Venice culinary traditions are much centred around seafood, the great majority of which has been (and still is) delivered to this antique market for centuries. As you explore the stands, listen to the sounds of the market, observe locals as they bargain, and see a phenomenal variety of seafood (perhaps even some you've never seen before!), you will surely feel like a true Venetian.

Thirsty and hungry for a snack after your market experience? No problem! Following your opening adventure you will then stroll through the city, taste cicchetti and sip on prosecco at two of Venice's most authentic cicchetti bars. Cicchetti are classic Venetians finger food snacks that the locals eat from mid morning throughout the day and which are usually accompanied by prosecco.

At this point it will almost be lunch time! Hop on a gondolino (a small gondola) and cross the canal to enjoy a sit down lunch featuring all the classics of Venetian culinary tradition! By the end of this extravagant food experience you will definitely feel like a local yourself, and are sure to bring back some ever lasting memories, in your taste buds too!

This was such a fun way to spend time in Venice and our guide was incredibly kind and accommodating for us and our two young girls! We had delicious food, fun prosecco, wine, beer, crispy fried fish, walked through the market, road a boat and ended with a nice walk and delicious pasta. It was perfect for the entire family and we are fairly discerning when it comes to food. Also the booking process and LivTours team were helpful and made everything seamless.

We booked this tour very last minute and thank goodness we did. It was one of the best memories of our trip to Italy. The cicchetti tour was so fun to experience how locals eat and drink. Elisa was our favorite guide of all the tours we did in 11 days.

A native Venetian; her spirit , energy and knowledge made us fall in love with the city. It was like being with a friend- she is just delightful to be around ! She was also so thoughtful to keep our teenager engaged when he was tired of all-day touring.

I'm not sure how I can describe to you how much we enjoyed this tour. What made this tour such a great experience was our guide, Giulia. We had a tour guide who is an actual resident of Venice who is married to a Gondolier! But, on top of that Giulia is one of the kindest, most gracious people I have met. This trip was for my mother's 75th birthday so my goal was helping her do whatever she wanted to do. What she wanted to do the day we took the tour was to get her hair done! Giulia called a hair salon, made an appointment for my mother, and then walked with us to take her up to the salon so she could explain exactly what my mother wanted to have done! I'm pretty sure this was not listed as part of the tour!! lol
Giulia could have stopped there as we said goodbye at the end of the tour, but she didn't. She messaged me AND my mother several times to ask if we needed anything and offered more information and suggestions to help make our visit to Venice go smoothly. When I arrived back home, she messaged me again to ask if we had made it home safely!! I am so absolutely impressed with her and my family has not stopped talking about her! I have already told anyone who will listen how wonderful Giulia is and how highly I recommend LivTours.
