pointing out the synagogues as well as the apt, buildings which the Jews occupied which gave a good sense as to how life was as unfortunate as it was

A two hour intro to Venetian history and culture

We had a great experience. Elisabetta Amadi was an outstanding tour guide. She is deeply knowledgeable about the history of Venice and the Jewish Quarter, and she combined that background with a willingness to walk all over the city and to answer questions about how Venetians live today. Elisabetta's briefing equipped us to wander broadly on our own and to see parts of Venice that tourists often miss.
Excellent tour of Jewish Ghetto in Venice

Excellent tour. Guide was informed and passionate. About two hours of walking/standing. Well worth the time. Guide new the history but also the current (modern) use of Ghetto area. Starting point a little difficult to find but Guide kindly waited about 10 extra minutes for us. Note tour does not include inside tour of main synogogue which can be done separately.
