Eating our way through Venice

I heard our guide's name once and never really understood it, so sorry for not using her name. She was amazing. We signed up for this tout after our chosen tour guide said he was not available. We really lucked out. Our group of nine had an amazing tour and dinner. Five very filling and delicious courses that we tried to walk off as she showed us through the Venice Ghetto and Cannareggio District. We started with a stop at a bakery for amazing almond cookies. By the time we got to the appetizer stop we were ready for more food. The Venician cocktails and little open-face sandwiches were delicious. Our guide made sure there was plenty of food I could eat since I am so allergic to seafood. I was pretty full after this stop. We moved on to a pasta course, fish course and then amazing gelatto all the while seeing interesting places and hearing great stories. We loved it!

History and culture though its cuisine

Great explanation of the history of the ghetto and the people who lived there over the centuries. This was our first time in this part of Venice and we loved walking some of its narrow streets. We also learned about the significance of the food and drink in culture.

fThis was one of the best tours we did in Venice. First off, going to different restaurants for each course was phenomenal. They were among the best restaurants we went to in Italy. The guide was informative, entertaining, and delightful. Finally, it was great to see a part of Venice not overrun by tourists. After the tour, we took the guide's suggestion and spent more time in the neighborhood among a very local crowd and amazing sunset views. This tour far exceeded my expectations.

Guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour a lot of fun!! Even though we had 15 people, she talked with everyone and kept us all together. Come hungry to the tour as there is a lot of great food!!
