Absolutely the best experience of our trip! Vittorio (our tour guide) was an incredible guide; friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and knows everyone in the city! We just wanted to spend all our of time learning about Venice from him. Mossimo (in the glass factory) was absolutely excellent in explaining the glass making processes in the workshop and throughout the showroom. He knew the artists, their history, technique, and what they were known for. We asked him a lot of questions and he answered all of them for us and was friendly and loveable. We visited 6 years ago and didn't buy a chandelier and I regretted it ever since, so I finally bought my chandelier this time! We did the group tour last time and this was much better as we could take as much time as we needed to make this big purchase. With gas prices increasing and the ovens being gas powered, this art may be coming to an end, so I bought as much as I could.
Thanks Joanna!

Murano Glass Factory Tour
We bought two pieces-
A beautiful Murano Chandelier and stunning Mirror.
Definitely the highlight of Venice.
Recommend only traveling around by private water taxi every where and only private tours!
Anna Maria, great tour guide

My guide, Anna Maria, was excellent!! I enjoyed the private tour with her around Venice immensely. The private boat out to Murano was also a lovely way to see the city. The glassblowing tour itself was just ok. Had I not known a lot about glassblowing already / hadn’t known what questions to ask, I’m not sure it would have gone that well. Also be prepared to buy something, yes, because the pieces are beautiful, but also because that seems to be the main goal of the tour.
Don’t bother.

We arranged for this tour as we thought it would be helpful and more interesting to go to Murano with a guide. We were disappointed. Our guide arrived late. As we walked to the water taxi to take us to Murano, she repeated the same, limited facts about glass making at Murano that we could have got from any brochure. During the ride there and back, another group was getting a full narration of passing sites - our guide sat up front away from us and talked to the taxi driver. During the tour of the glass factory itself, she was not to be found. The factory representative who did accompany us was very pleasant and knowledgeable but it was clear that sales was the main objective. After the tour of the factory, we were hustled back to Venice with no opportunity to see anything else on Murano. Don’t bother with this tour. You will get far more out of a visit if you go on your own and explore as you please with an audio guide.
