What To Expect

Campo Santa Maria Formosa
Campo Santa Maria Formosa is a field in Venice, located in the Castello district.

It is one of the largest fields in the city: starting from it (including the adjacent Campiello Querini in the area), a total of nine calli and eleven bridges depart (some of which are simply connected to the entrances of the buildings).

The name is due to the presence of the church of Santa Maria Formosa.

Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo
Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo is one of the largest fields in Venice, located in the Castello district, on the border with that of Cannaregio.

At the center of the field, on a polychrome marble basement, there is the equestrian monument dedicated to Bartolomeo Colleoni by Verrocchio.

The imposing church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo (also called San Zanipolo in Venetian dialect) closes the corner with the Scuola Grande di San Marco which also develops along the foundations of the adjacent Mendicanti stream. Next to the church there is the main entrance and, therefore, the facade of the city hospital.

In an angle outside the side apse of the basilica, the old level of the field is still visible, covered with terracotta, and well below the current paving.

Every year the field is also the place of departure and of the award ceremony of the regatta of SS. Giovanni and Paolo.

Campo San Luca
Campo San Luca is a field in Venice, located in the San Marco district.

Geographically it is located 50 meters from Campo Manin and is the point of intersection of the traffic routes towards Piazza San Marco on one side and Rialto on the other.

Together with campo San Bartolomeo it has been for a very long time one of the most popular meeting places of the Venetians, thanks to its central location, the presence of numerous commercial activities and bars and its proximity to the municipal offices and the main banking offices of the city .

From an architectural point of view, apart from the surviving eighteenth-century part of the modern Palazzo Nervi-Scattolin, there are no buildings of particular value.

Piazza San Marco
Piazza San Marco, located in Venice, is one of the most important Italian monumental squares, renowned worldwide for its beauty and architectural integrity. It is the only urban space in Venice that properly takes the name of a square, as all the other spaces in the form of a square are properly defined fields. Its main body has a trapezoidal shape and is 170 meters long: other areas are grafted onto it. It is also known as "the Piazza" or "the drawing room of Europe".

Our tour with Marco was a great way to start our first day in Venice! He gave us lots of information about the sites & even catered the tour to our interests. We wanted to see inside the Basilica and glass blowing and Marco added both to the tour for us. I would definitely recommend!
Tour consigliatissimo a tutti
