Overview

DISCOVER THE VOLCANIC HILLS OF VENICE BY TASTING THEM
The Euganean Hills are a group of hills of volcanic origin that rise to heights of 300 to 600 m from the Padovan-Venetian plain a few km south of Venice.
Accompanied by the Local Tour Leader you will enter the heart of the Euganean Hills to discover, thanks to the visit in two renowned wineries of the Euganean territory, the best wine production in the area. Here the particular volcanic origin of the soil and the good climate allows the cultivation of various vines. Among the white wines: the Serprino, biotype of the Glera vine, is the “volcanic” version of Prosecco; the Pinot bianco; the Garganega, the Chardonnay and Manzoni. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmènere have found space among the reds.
Between a walk through the vineyards, a visit to the cellar and several wine tastings paired with typical local products we will listen to the wise tale of the winemakers about the expressions of their best wines.

Great time

We met our guide at the train station and she picked us up and showed us around the beautiful country side including many of the villas which were gorgeous. Shortly after she took us to two local wineries where we tried the best wines and conversed with the owners who were also very friendly. I had an amazing time and strongly recommend it to anyone who travels to the area. - Trey Shepherd
Lovely wine and countryside tour

We had such a wonderful time on this tour! Communication with the tour guide ahead of time, the train from Venice (which was included in the price), pick up, and drop off was all very easy. The two wineries we toured were lovely and the local wine we tasted was fantastic. We had a few delicious snacks at each place as well, and we got to hear not only about the grapes and wine but the stories and history of the wineries and the area too! Everyone was so nice. The only thing we had any issues with was that is was sometimes hard to hear our tour guide when we were driving from one place to another in the van. But she was very nice and willing to repeat herself. Would definitely recommend this tour as a neat way to see the countryside and get out of the city for a day on your Venice trip!

10/10 recommended! This experience was amazing the section of wine was great and the taste was even better. Our tour guide was full on knowledge that she was eager to share. If you’re looking for a wine tour look no further than this!
Nice tour, but overpriced

We enjoyed the wine tastings at two wineries, and we definitely learned a lot about the process, which was great. I was a little disappointed that we didn’t learn much history about the region, but it was a good experience overall. We booked last minute, so I didn’t get a chance to look at the tour company’s website until after, when I learned that they charge 3x to book via Viator. I understand charging a little bit more, because Viator takes their cut, but triple? That feels very exploitative. They got us train tickets to the region from Venice and picked us up at the station, both those tickets only cost 10 Euro per person. The guide drove us to two wineries for tastings and back to the train. Definitely not worth $150 per person.
